2. minimum 150 wordsBecause the United States is full of many cultures and worldviews, cross-cultural evangelism is something that can be very influential. Christians must learn to adapt in this changing world. To reach as many people as we can, we must evangelize to other cultures as well. To do this in a way that is not offensive, there are a few things we need to remember. First, we must listen to the person as they tell us who they are and what life is like for them. Asking questions to understand can lead to a relationship that allows them to feel comfortable. They should know that you respect their culture and want to learn. Second, you could share your story of how you became a follower of Jesus. This will show them that you are willing to be vulnerable and open with them. Responding to their story with the story of Jesus can lead them to connect parts of their life with the Bible. For example, if someone mentions that they felt they were in a dark point in their life, you can share that Jesus calls himself the light of the world.? Lastly, you should follow up with them and let them know that you are there to help them in this walk with Christ. Evangelism should not just be a one-time thing. You should invest time in people and continue to process the gospel with them. People need time to process everything, especially those who come from other cultures. A lot of them have little exposure to the gospel and a biblical worldview. Not one time that you share the gospel goes in vain. Planting that seed is the most important part. Thomas Terry from the Gospel Coalition stated that we should “not underestimate the power of intentional engagement” (Butler & Terry, 2019).
